On Monday we went to the Rockies game, complete with fireworks (a friend of mine had some tickets he was not able to use, thanks Carl!)
awesome seats!
best fireworks ever!

On Wednesday I went to dinner with my amazing friend, Dawn! She was one of my leaders on my trip to Haiti. (I will miss her so much!) She gave me this cute gift, with the verse "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take" Proverbs 3:5-6
I love it!
Friday was my last day of work (I will miss the kiddos and all my wonderful co-workers)
all the lady's I work with
Saturday we had a family movie night, we saw The Avengers. (It was awesome!)

Sunday we had a family lunch (complete with grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins) at Mimi's Cafe
I love pasta!
This is how I felt all week...
Sort of like a chicken running around with its head cut off...
My wonderful mom has been making me my favorite meals, here are some of the amazing foods she makes (I am going to miss her home cooking!)
our favorite family meal, hot wings!

My amazing sister brought me home my last free Dairy Queen (she works there and brings treats home for us)

friends and food...a great combination!

this weeks tour...more good-bye's and yummy food
*10 days until departure...
Is there anything better than friends and food?
I do not think so...
This weekend has been full of lunch/dinner dates with the best of friends. (who I will miss tremendously!)
I am so full of loving and caring friends...oh and do not forget the food! (it was all delicious!)
#1-girls night out (we went to our usual spot...Chili's)
A few of my girlfriends and I have a monthly dinner date...this was my last one...for two years anyways.
Nichole, Me, Beth
I met these girls on my Haiti trip and I thank God every day for amazing women to share my life with! (oh and a big congratulations and good luck to Nichole she got accepted into a pharmacy program!)
#2-BFF (we went to Panera...oh how I will miss their delicious food!)
I have a best friend, who I have know since I was 5! She is the best!
I am a lame friend...this is an old picture of us (from my high school graduation in 2003! gees I am getting old)
Me & Aumbree
We had such a great time, we did not think to take a new picture!
I thank God for her everyday...I am so blessed to have a friend who I have known my whole life, and who I will share the rest of my life with!
#3-a great friend and brother in Christ (we had BBQ! Dennis always knows the best food places...Jim 'N Nick's...it was delicious)
I met Dennis a few years ago...we always have so much fun together...he is a blast to hang out with because he makes everything fun!
Dennis
I thank God for him everyday, because he always puts a smile on my face! He also is a great example of someone who lives their life for Jesus (good luck in seminary!)
God has blessed me with amazing people in my life! I will miss everyone so much!
But...
It is time for me to make new friends!

what is for dinner?

this weeks tour...food
*warning* you do not have to try these foods for yourself...just take my word for it! (or you can, but do not say i did not warn you)
there are a few things that are pretty typical of a Micronesian diet, that i knew i would be able to get here in America and try. here goes nothing...
i would consider myself a fairly picky eater (i guess i am going to have to get over that!)
so the other night i asked my mom 'what is for dinner?' (she hates this question) and well it was my lucky night! almost everything she made...i do not like!
the menu-salmon, spam, coconut, asparagus, and buttery parmesan noodles. (i like 2 of those 5 things)
spam, salmon, coconut, asparagus, noodles
i did try and eat everything on my plate.
my review-
spam, salmon, coconut
spam-gross, gross, gross! it looked icky, smelled icky, and tasted kind of like bacon (only if it was cooked to a crisp!)
salmon-okay (not a fan of seafood-guess that is going to change too! although living next to the ocean and getting fresh seafood...i may change my feelings for it) after eating the spam...it was good!
coconut-like chewing on a twig! not joking, it is dry and woodsy tasting
and of course my favorites...
asparagus and buttery parmesan noodles-mmmmmmm!
food will probably be one of my hardest adjustments when i move to my new home.
bon appetit!
